A large turnout of olive growers attended the meeting organised by OP LATIUM yesterday, Wednesday 30 September, at the offices of Coop. Produttori Agricoli Farensi.
The topic of the evening: the obligations relating to registration on the SIAN portal and OP’s proposals for oil marketing.

In the presence of representatives of the main olive-growing cooperatives of Sabina and other provinces of Lazio, President David Granieri clarified some important aspects of the new obligations for producers, emphasising in particular the opportunities that can arise from them if a shared commercial goal is pursued.

“Lazio” – Granieri stressed – “contributes 18.7% of national oil production: an extremely significant share. At the same time, the whole territory of Sabina and the other olive-growing areas of the region offers a high-quality Italian product, exactly what the market now demands.
On the threshold of an olive campaign that looks decidedly better than the last one, OP LATIUM’s challenge, with its 9,000 members across all five provinces of Lazio, is to give the world of production back the levers of the market, because it must be the producers who can set the price of the oil”.
