Heirs of an Ancient Tradition

The history of OP LATIUM is deeply rooted in a distant past long before its actual foundation.

The core of our organization of producers was formed through the merger of two historic olive oil cooperatives: “Colli Sabini” of Palombara Sabina, and “Farnese” of Castelnuovo di Farfa, both established in the early 1960s in a region rich in thousand-year-old agricultural traditions—Sabina, known as the olive garden of Rome.

The strength and passion that define us, along with the experience of those before us, are the result of a generational heritage passed down by olive growers who have preserved the land and handed down their knowledge over time. Figures such as Catone, Varrone, and Columella already recognized the excellence of olive cultivation in the times of Ancient Rome.

For this reason, since 2011, when we were officially established, we have continued to grow, becoming the largest organization of olive producers of extra virgin olive oil and table olives in Lazio, a key reference point in the market for high-quality Italian agri-food products.
