The first truck of food aid destined for the towns devastated by the earthquake that struck Central Italy last night will leave tomorrow morning from OP LATIUM’s operational headquarters in Palombara Sabina (RM). The initiative, organised in collaboration with Coldiretti Lazio and in coordination with the Civil Protection Department, is also joined by Consorzio C.O.P.LA. of Fondi (LT) and Azienda Agricola Verbesi of Rome.
“[i]I know that at times like these words are of little use[/i]” – states David Granieri, president of OP LATIUM and Coldiretti Lazio – “[i]but today, faced with the images of pain and destruction that have struck our fellow citizens of Amatrice, Accumoli, Arquata and the other nearby towns, I believe that as an organisation we cannot just stand by and watch – it is not in our nature as Agricultural Entrepreneurs and as an Organisation. That is why we want to be there right away, to do our part too, to help members and friends who now, more than ever, need it.[/i]”
