Yesterday in Rome, at Palazzo Rospigliosi, Coldiretti, Unaprol, Federolio and FAI S.p.A. (Filiera Agricola Italiana) signed the largest supply chain contract ever for Made in Italy oil, for a quantity of 10 million kilograms and a value of over 50 million euros, with the aim of ensuring the security and spread of 100% Italian oil by stabilising sales conditions, also thanks to the involvement of the leading Italian packaging companies.
“The supply chain agreement signed by Coldiretti, Unaprol, Federolio and FAI (Filiera Agricola Italiana), for a quantity of 10 million kg and a value of over 50 million euros, represents a fundamental milestone in the process we have undertaken to defend Italian oil, first and foremost from the fierce attacks of foreign multinationals.
It is – explains Unaprol president David Granieri – a patriotic, responsible act, to build a new model, defend ourselves from attacks coming from abroad and relaunch a sector going through a moment of great difficulty, with a significant loss of market share. We want to bet on the supply chain because it is the Italian system that wins, not individual pieces.
The intent is to build something absolutely innovative; this is why we have set a guaranteed minimum price for producers, a bonus based on quality parameters, and signed a multi-year agreement that can guarantee market stability and planning.
Within the contract we have also created a common fund available to everyone, which we will develop by prioritising research.
The goal is to grow the entire cultural system around the world of oil and to build an entrepreneurial class that can feel more protected”.
